The level of service and communication has been consistently clear, honest, and very professional throughout what has been a bit of a complex mechanical situation with my vehicle. The workshop itself is located in Sydney city, World Square Car Park, which at first can seem a little unconventional, but it’s actually very convenient once you know it. It can be accessed via either the Goulburn Street or Pitt Street entrance ramps, and importantly, parking is effectively included as part of the service so there are no separate parking fees to worry about. What really stands out is their knowledge and approach. Darren and Simon are clearly very experienced mechanically and technically, but just as importantly, they are never dismissive. They take the time to listen and understand exactly what you’re trying to achieve with the vehicle, which is something I really value. In my case, I’m fairly hands-on and actively maintain my own car, with up-to-date knowledge of servicing, maintenance history, and mechanical work. I also keep full logbooks and records of everything done. Despite this, I’ve found them to be respectful and open in discussion, without ever making assumptions or talking down to you — which unfortunately can be common in the industry and something I personally really dislike. The car is always returned washed and clean. I know many people who have used and spoken very highly of this service for over 20 years, and I only recently used them myself based on those recommendations. While there, I have also noticed a huge variety of vehicles being worked on — from Bentley's and Rolls Royce's down to little Smart cars, of which Simon specializes in, and everything in between, including both electric and internal combustion engine vehicles. Overall, they’ve been very easy to deal with, transparent, and willing to engage properly with the technical side of things rather than brushing concerns aside. I would confidently recommend them to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and straightforward workshop that communicates well and treats customers with respect.

The communication was extremely poor, and I felt ignored as a customer. No updates, no clear explanations, and no transparency. I expected much better customer service.
Simon was incredibly helpful and listened to my observations about my car. After describing how the vehicle drove, the engine codes as well as what I saw on my own diagnostic gear, he readily identified the issue and other maintenance opportunities that could be done while fixing the main issue. My car drives like new, and Autotech did a stellar job keeping me across what was happening with my car even when I was overseas. 10/10 service.

2024 post: I've been going to Autotech for many years. As with all of the reviews here, the team are friendly, honest and really great to work with. I'd left things really late this year to get pink slip and service. Turned up in the morning without a booking and they did everything for me on the same day! Absolute legends. 2025 post: the team continues to impress. Top quality work. No fuss, great communication. I am so lucky to have found such a great and trustworthy team!
