Labrador Auto Electrics

Labrador Auto Electrics is an auto electrician business owned and operated by Adam and Eliza Davis. Adam Davis has over 25 years with the business as of 2019, and has owned and run it for the last 13 years. The business specialises in all types of auto electrics. It repairs and rebuilds alternators and repairs starter motors using genuine parts. It services and repairs Bosch, Mitsubishi, Denso, Valeo, Hitachi and Delco Remy alternators.

Durst test gear is used to test and repair computer controlled alternators. The business stands by repairs and gives warranty. A Snap-On scan tool is used for engine management diagnostics, and all airbag faults are diagnosed and repaired. For caravan and camping setups, Redarc solenoids, Redarc and Tekonsha brake units, heavy duty cabling and genuine Anderson plugs are used. Ctek chargers are supplied and installed.

The business is fully licensed to re-gas air conditioning using R134a gas, with Robinair vacuum pumps and Robinair and CPS gauges, and uses ultra-violet dye and a Robinair gas detector for leak finding. The service area includes northern Gold Coast suburbs such as Arundel, Parkwood, Biggera Waters, Labrador, Runaway Bay, Hope Island, Paradise Point, Southport, Helensvale, Chirn Park, Coomera, Oxenford, Pacific Pines and Tamborine. Auto electrical and air conditioning services are provided from a workshop in Arundel.

Caravanners, campers and everyday motorists bring their vehicles to this Arundel workshop, and the accounts they leave behind centre on one theme: being treated honestly. More than one customer describes arriving after a dealership or another mechanic had diagnosed an expensive failure, only for the problem to be traced to something far simpler, such as a system needing a regas rather than a new compressor.

More than one review highlights that quotes are given upfront and then honoured, with no upselling and no pressure, a point that comes up often among people who say they have previously been taken advantage of. The work itself covers air conditioning servicing and regas, alternator and electrical diagnostics, towing wiring and plugs, and custom battery box builds for off-grid travel, with one customer reporting a four-week camping trip powered by a system assembled here.

Adam is named in most accounts and is described as laid back, approachable and willing to explain how a system works and how to maintain it, while another staff member, Dave, is praised for sticking to both the time and the price he promised. Turnaround is quick, including same-day checks and repairs squeezed in before a holiday break, and customers note that no charge was made when an inspection found nothing wrong. The recurring thread is straightforward advice and work that holds up.
