Scotts Auto Air & Electrical

Scotts Auto Air & Electrical is a family owned and operated auto electrician business serving Wollongong. The business is run by Scott Heatherington and his son Dale, and has over 40 years of combined experience.

Scotts Auto Air & Electrical specialises in auto air conditioning, caravan towing and electric brake setup, caravan and 4WD canopy electrics, dual battery systems and inverters setup. It is the Illawarra's authorised stockist and installer of iTech World equipment, and the exclusive iTech World preferred specialist in Wollongong.

Diagnostic expertise and patient explanation recur throughout accounts of this Wollongong auto air conditioning and electrical specialist. More than one customer describes arriving after other workshops had failed to pinpoint a fault, only for Scott or Dale to identify the cause accurately and talk them through it. One owner reports that a suspected compressor replacement was traced to a faulty solenoid valve, while another describes an alternator assessment carried out at no charge before a long trip.

Reviewers frequently point to being helped to understand what had gone wrong and what to watch for later, rather than simply being handed a bill. Pricing draws consistent approval, with work completed quickly, sometimes without an appointment, and quotes that came in below expectations.

The manner of the team is praised just as often: Scott is described as patient, generous with his time and plainly passionate about the work, while Dale is called similarly helpful and reassuring. A neat dual battery wiring installation in a ute canopy is singled out for its tidiness, and a thorough air conditioning regas saw the vehicle inspected and the customer called before any work proceeded. Turn signal and headlight faults, including a difficult one on a Jeep, were sorted promptly.
