-5/5 ★ – Avoid AutoTechnic – Looters, Irresponsible & Expensive I visited AutoTechnic today to fix an oil leak from the mechatronic breather plug on my car. I’ve never been to this place before. My regular mechanic had already diagnosed this issue 10 days ago. I explained the exact problem to AutoTechnic when I called, and they gave me a booking for today. I dropped my car off at 9:00 AM and came back at 3:00 PM. In 6 hours, they hadn’t even looked at the car. But instead of admitting that, they pretended they had checked it and told me it would take “a few more days” just to find the exact problem and fix it. After some discussion, the mechanic asked me to wait. He came back 15 minutes later and suggested replacing the entire mechatronic unit — without opening or properly inspecting the unit from inside. He was just guessing. Then came the worst part: he asked me to pay $200 for a “report” on the same issue I had already explained to them when booking, and that I’d already paid my previous mechanic to diagnose. I was fully aware of the issue before coming in. *#These guys are looters.#* Completely irresponsible behaviour, wasted my entire day, and tried to charge me for nothing. My advice: avoid going there. If you do, ask for ALL expected expenses upfront before handing over your car.

Proper old-school workshop service. We had an issue with our Merc, compounded by the fact that we had to leave for the mainland in a weeks time. Jesse and the team, despite being justifiably busy, got us sorted out and back on schedule. If you need a workshop and want outstanding service without the risk of being ripped off, go here.
