My experience at the Ballarat Roadworthy centre was very satisfactory. Easy booking, punctual and quick with service. Customer service was excellent and explained everything well. I highly recommend Ballarat Roadworthy.

My mum attended Ballarat Roadworthy centre, after taking a newly purchased car there to have the breaks checked. She was quoted over $1400 and told the front and back rotors were completely worn as well as the break pads worn and all needed replacing. My mum called around and got quotes for the same work, and the quotes were significantly cheaper. She took the car to another mechanic, and they pulled the car apart, to only find out that the front rotors were brand new, the back rotors were used, but nowhere near needing to be replaced. They also found the break pads were brand new. Cost her $80 to tell her that everything was okay. Not a great experience for an older woman. My experience with these guys was good in the past, but seems like things have slipped and honesty has gone out the window.

I bought a motorhome from Queensland and was looking for a roadworthy certificate. Melton Mechanic quoted me $1000 just for a Roadworthy Certificate, plus separate fees for a Gas certificate and an electrical certificate. Plus any repair to things needed VicRoads also advised us to provide a gas certificate. I contacted Ballarat Roadworthy Centre and was impressed by their booking availability and by their general inquiry regarding the motorhome's roadworthiness. Guess what? I don't need a gas certificate. I argued with the receptionist that VicRoads had asked me to provide one, and they told me to open the passenger-side door and show them the compliance plate. They did my roadworthy for $650, and the three items required were a reflector, a bulb, and a fire extinguisher. They call you before they install anything, which is actually a good practice. All up, it cost $898, whereas Melton Mechanic quoted me over $2000. I will definitely recommend Ballarat Roadworthy Centre, and whenever my next service is due, I’ll still go there. It’s a bit of a drive, but it gives me peace of mind. I checked most of their reviews before going there, and all were happy customers.

I went there without a booking and fitted me in and finished in the required time they told it would take to do the inspection. All good
