Edan Cassell Edge Automotive

Edan Cassell Edge Automotive is a mechanics business in Ballarat, Victoria, operating since 2012. Its mechanics have over 60 years of combined experience. The company provides new vehicle log book servicing as an alternative to dealership services.

Its main services include vehicle servicing and inspection, brakes and suspension, clutch and drive line repairs, diagnostics and electrical, petrol and direct injection diagnosis and repair, and common rail diesel diagnosis and repair. It endorses Australian brands Penrite oil company and Clutch and Brake Australia. It supports charitable organisations including The Starlight Foundation and local kindergartens and sporting clubs.

Trustworthiness and transparent dealing emerge as the qualities that recur most in feedback about this Ballarat workshop. Customers describe being told plainly what work was needed and what could wait, with no pressure to approve unnecessary repairs, and several mention that quotes and final invoices came in at or below expectations even when the team had been given freedom to spend what was required. Communication is a frequent theme, from booking through to updates while vehicles were in the workshop, and the front-desk staff member is named often for making appointments effortless.

Edan is regularly credited, along with the wider team, for patient explanations free of jargon and for making time to look at problems that were not booked in. The work described covers general servicing, power steering diagnosis, wheel bearings, clutches, injector pumps and 4WD repairs, alongside vehicle inspections, braking, air conditioning, auto electrical and diesel work. Long-standing clients who have brought multiple vehicles over a decade sit beside first-time visitors, and a courtesy car and a workshop clean-down were both singled out. Being kept informed until collection reappears throughout the accounts, as does the sense that vehicles are treated as the owner's own.
