Excellent service, from mechanic to front office. Harmac Automotive went above and beyond my expectations. I can't fault this company and will be returning in the future for all my euro car servicing.

I went there because I had a steering issue that was damaging my tyres. One tyre had already gone flat, so I had to put on a spare wheel. I explained that I wanted to find and fix the actual problem before buying a new tyre. After leaving my car there for the whole day, their diagnosis was basically: “One of your wheels isn’t suitable for your car, you need to replace it.” Thanks, I already knew that. $190 for that. I’ve definitely had better service on the Sunshine Coast.

I highly recommend these guys. I had some major work to do on my Subaru engine, they were responsive and provided a reasonable quote which was 2/3 that of the firm. They did the job in less time and gave daily updates throughout. At collection they showed pictures of the work that was done with a thorough explanation. Overall they were extremely professional, I'll be going to them again in future

The team at Harmac are fantastic. They keep you up to date with costings and any potential issues that may come up when completing there work. There system of dealing with clients should be the new standard in my books. As my fleet of vehicles increases I’ll be taking all of my work and personal vehicles there.

I am posting this review anonymously to protect my privacy. Apologies for some vague information as I am keeping it non-specific to maintain anonymity. I was referred to Harmac Automotive a couple months ago for roadworthy repairs and was genuinely shocked by both the pricing and the overall experience. The labour rate is $190 per hour, which is well above typical independent workshop rates in this area. Despite that, the service did not reflect a premium experience. I dealt with multiple different service advisors and never once spoke to the technician working on my vehicle. The parts pricing was extraordinarily inflated. Several items were quoted at four to five times what they are readily available for retail. In one case, a component quoted at nearly $500 was available online for around $130. Another small rubber hose quoted at over $400 was available for around $25. Suspension components quoted at hundreds of dollars were available as a pair for less than a fraction of that. When I asked whether these prices reflected genuine or premium parts, the response was essentially that they did not know. There was no clear explanation of brand, quality, or justification for the markup. That was concerning given the labour rate being charged. I understand businesses apply markup. I run one myself. You expect maybe 20% to 30%. Not 400% to 500% on some items, on top of a $190 per hour labour rate. It felt like double dipping. There were also labour charges quoted separately for related suspension components that are typically completed at the same time, resulting in what appeared to be duplicated labour. Time allowances on some items also did not reflect the actual complexity of the work. I was charged an investigation fee despite providing a clear defect list from a roadworthy inspection. This was not clearly disclosed or authorised beforehand. There were also quoting errors where items were added that were not required. When questioned, this was brushed off as someone internally misunderstanding the list, without any real accountability for how that happened. In my view, the pricing structure and lack of transparency raises serious ethical concerns and appears to take advantage of customers who may not know the market value of parts and labour. I chose to collect my vehicle and complete the repairs independently. I would not recommend this business. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO HARMAC'S REPLY: Harmac's response is exactly why I stand by this review. Rather than acknowledging any of the specific issues raised, they have dismissed the entire experience and framed it as if I simply do not understand workshop pricing. That is not the case. My issue was never that workshops make a margin. My issue was that some parts were quoted at 400% to 500% above readily available pricing, on top of a $190 per hour labour rate. That felt excessive. Their response also focuses heavily on warranty support. Consumer protections already exist under Australian Consumer Law, and many reputable suppliers provide warranties of their own. They also claim their hourly rate is in line with professional independent workshops. In my experience, there are many highly rated local workshops with modern facilities and qualified technicians charging significantly less. Most importantly, their reply still does not address the core concerns: nobody could clearly explain the parts pricing, nobody could confirm the brands or quality of the parts being quoted, errors were made in the quote, and an investigation fee was charged despite a defect list being supplied. A good response would have acknowledged at least one of those issues and offered to review the experience. Instead, Harmac dismissed everything and accepted no accountability. Readers can decide for themselves, but I stand by my original review.
