C.J.S Mechanical / Marine & Mobile Services

C.J.S Mechanical / Marine & Mobile Services is a locally owned and operated business in Cairns, owned and managed by Clayton Jue Sue. Clayton Jue Sue has 20 years of experience within the automotive, marine and heavy industries, and the team has more than 20 years combined experience in the mechanical industry. The business services Cairns, Innisfail, Atherton Tablelands, Mossman, Cape and surrounding areas from a workshop in Bungalow. It is an approved RWC and mobile inspection station for heavy/light vehicles and trailers and camper/caravans, and the authorised agent for servicing and repairs to Yamaha Golf Cars, new or used.

The business holds a mobile service vehicle for breakdown situations. Services include log book servicing, roadworthy certificates in Cairns and surrounds, wheel alignment and balancing, tune ups, suspension lift kits and GVM upgrades, brakes, engine rebuilds, gear box overhauls, general repairs, marine fit outs, auto electrical, and trailer repairs. It holds and teaches basic car maintenance and basic boat maintenance workshops. Options include drop off, emergency service, on-site service, pick-up/roadside service, and loan vehicle. Payments accepted are cash, direct debit, EFT or EFTPOS.

Servicing, repairs and roadworthy compliance work sit at the centre of what this Cairns workshop handles, and reviewers repeatedly single out the breadth of jobs it takes on, from cars and four-wheel drives to outboard motors, trailers and trucks. Clayton is named in account after account as the reason customers come back, described as thorough, knowledgeable and meticulous in his workmanship, and several reviewers mention being kept informed while their vehicle was with him, with clear explanations of the work carried out. The team around him, including reception staff, is described as friendly and approachable rather than purely transactional.

Customers note that faults other workshops had failed to resolve were diagnosed and put right, among them an outboard issue that had defeated earlier attempts. Upfront pricing and cost-effective repairs come up often, as does the speed of turnaround, with trailers requiring substantial work for compliance remedied quickly. The condition vehicles are handed back in also draws comment, including a car returned washed and waxed after a routine service. Practical help in difficult circumstances, such as allowing a stranded traveller to stay and use facilities, is remembered long after the job.
