My wife’s much-loved VW Beetle lost compression and needed an engine rebuild. I’ve been through major repairs on other cars before and they were always stressful and expensive, so I wasn’t looking forward to it again. I reached out to Eastern Suburbs Automotive and couldn’t have been happier. They were already familiar with the issue from rebuilding plenty of VW engines with the same problem. They clearly explained the process and the cost, I agreed, and dropped the car in. Their communication was excellent the whole way through — I never once wondered what was happening. After dismantling the motor they found some play in the turbo and offered an affordable option to replace it at the same time. A few days later they called to say the work was done, everything had tested well, and besides a wash the car was ready to go (it even looked like it had been detailed). The final cost came in a bit under their original estimate. They completely exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend if you want a hassle-free solution for any mechanical work.

My car was taken to this mechanic to have the air suspension replaced due to it failing recently after purchasing from a dealership. Was told that a certain brand would be installed in the vehicle that was not OEM but of similar/close quality. Only recently had the car on a hoist to find that they installed cheap Chinese knock offs instead. Likely because they maintain a relationship with the dealership. Who knows how long before this fails and likely creates risk to passengers and other road users.

Troy is an absolute professional and top bloke, picked up an absolute gem from his dealership and can’t be happier, and the fellas in the workshop are second to none, great value and honest experienced mechanics. My little gem will be serviced by then from now on. Thanks again Troy

I had a great experience with Troy at ESA Automotive. From the moment we arrived through to returning the car, he was genuinely kind, professional, and easy to deal with. I cannot recommend this place enough! Last week, I broke down very fortunately next to ESA. I was so stressed out and confused, when Troy and Jamie happened to walk by and ask if everything was okay. I explained the situation and they were so helpful and offered to take a look. I was worried that because I'm a young girl I was going to get stuffed around but that couldn't be further from the truth. Jamie came and did a diagnostic report on my car (free of charge!) and took the time to explain what was happening and what he thought was wrong. I don't have any experience with cars and Troy explained my options so that I wouldn't need to pay extra to get the car towed. I only ended up needing to get the battery replaced which only took less than half an hour AND they only charged me for the battery, not even the installation. It was an unfortunate situation but I was so incredibly lucky to have been close enough to run into Troy and Jamie, thank you both. Thank you to all the amazing staff who took the time to explain the situation, break down the costs, explain my options and reassured me everything would be okay. Life savers!
