What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

RACT AutoServe Launceston draws consistent praise for the way its team explains faults and options before any work begins, and for staying in touch with owners while a job is under way. A number of reviewers describe a welcoming front counter, singling out Emily and the reception staff for making a visit pleasant, while Craig is credited with passing on practical skills and advice. Diagnostic work features in several accounts, including a troublesome Nissan that was fault-found, repaired and handed back with the engine bay cleaned and unrelated issues fixed after checking with the owner.

Inspections, among them one for rideshare approval, are turned around quickly and without fuss, and customers note that the crew squeezed them in despite a full schedule. Fair member pricing and sensible guidance on what genuinely needs attention come up often, as does the readiness to help a stranded traveller whose vehicle was towed in and later prioritised once circumstances at home changed. Vehicle servicing and mechanical repairs are the work most often described, with efficient turnaround and a friendly manner rounding out the recurring themes.

Based on what I personally heard and what my husband experienced, I was very disappointed with the way Andrew, the manager, handled this situation. I heard the phone conversations myself and found his manner to be rude and unprofessional. During one of the calls, he told my husband that the vehicle would be sent to the wreckers if it wasn't collected, which I found unnecessary and upsetting. From everything I witnessed, there was poor communication, conflicting information about storage fees, and a lack of professionalism throughout the process. My husband's experience has left us both with a very negative impression, and I believe this type of customer service reflects poorly on RACT AutoServe. Customers deserve respectful, clear, and professional communication, especially when dealing with a stressful vehicle breakdown.

Travelling in Tas, broke down in Launceston on a Saturday. Towed to RACT AutoServe. We live in the car, so after getting a rental, RACT arranged access to the yard to get our stuff (as business was closed on weekend and locked). Monday morning initially told they wouldn't get to our car till later in the week. But in the meantime a medical situation had arisen at home and we had to get back to mainland. So they arranged for a mechanic to come in early Tuesday to fix car (starter motor). In the end they had a cancellation so were able to fix it Monday afternoon. We really appreciate their response to our difficult situation, they couldn't have been more helpful.

Got my car inspected at RACT AutoServe Launceston today — super professional and smooth process. Staff were friendly and explained everything clearly. Right after, I had breakfast at Sweetbrew Coffee House nearby. Great coffee, delicious food, and a cozy vibe. A great start to the day!

Worst customer service ever. I had an inspection on 11/02/2025 booked few weeks ago. Then on monday 3/02/2025, I tried to cancel as I didn’t need it anymore. It didn't allow me to cancel from the emailed link so i called the Launceston autoserve asking for cancellation which was more then a week advance notice, the guys who I spoke to on this day assured me that the booking has been cancelled and refund will be issued with whatever administration fee was. I agreed to this and i hang up the phone. Then on sunday during long holiday i was notified saying i have appointment. So i decided to email stating what had happened but got reply saying they need at least 24 hrs working hours notification or the cancellation will be declined. If i knew it wasn't cancelled on the day i called, i shouldn't be emailing you on a Sunday.
