Unfortunately, after spending nearly $2,000 with them, the issue came back just 10 minutes after leaving the shop. They refused to even check the problem unless i had done an additional $3,000 mechanical job somewhere else, despite me repeatedly explaining that the issue was something else. I was dismissed with the same answers. In the end, I fixed it at another auto electrician for $150 and it was exactly what I had suspected. It’s not fair to take advantage and scamming backpackers for easy money without properly listening to the actual problem. I’m sure the work they did, even if useless, was technically well done, but the way we were treated was very disappointing

Don’t even waste your time and money, car went in for an ac diagnosis and they said all it needed was gas and dye, yeah didn’t fix the issue now had someone else look at it and turns out the compressor or condenser isn’t getting power, now left without aircon over the holidays because they couldn’t be bothered to look at it properly. Also have 2 young kids and one has autism and doesn’t like having the windows down either.
ABSOLUTELY TOP MARKS!! I was recently in Bowen, 1500km from home, when the starter motor in my Mazda 3 expired (and it’s only 19 yrs/300,000km old) 😬. The parts weren’t available in Bowen, so I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. I phoned around Townsville from Bowen, and after 7 rejections, Shannon’s Auto Electrical in Garbutt were happy to offer a same day service. I dropped the car off at 11.30am and picked it up at 3.30pm. All done - easy, peasy….no problems……and the total cost was VERY reasonable. I’m forever grateful and I cannot recommend the Shannon’s team highly enough. …..and I’m pleased I still drive manual cars that can be clutch started.
