Just talked to them on the phone. Lovely guy, I told him I needed my repair done asap and he referred some other mechanics, since he is busy at the moment. The 3 minutes I talked to him really gave me the impression he wants to help and not just make money off you. Thanks!
I called to get a quote for servicing my make and model car and was immediately told “about $450” without being asked a single question. I then asked if that was for a 180,000 km service, and the man on the phone responded quite rudely, saying I should have mentioned that upfront. Honestly, shouldn’t you be asking what kilometre service it is before giving a price? He then asked for my rego and entered it into the system—something that should have been done from the start—before telling me it was actually a major service and that I “should have told him.” At no point did he ask basic questions like the current kilometres, and his tone the entire time was arrogant and dismissive. I was genuinely shocked at how I was spoken to. I ended up hanging up after telling him how unacceptable his attitude was. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend going there. Feel free to call and judge for yourself.

Have been using Midas for the last 7 years with previous excellent service by Kevin and the team however my last service has been a real let down, it was unfortunate Kevin was not there when I returned to pick up my car and had the grumpy older fellow. For an "essential service" I was charged $370 for an oil and oil filter change and got given a blank inspection report. Could have had a log book service at Mazda for the same price with more done. Bitterly disappointed, every service they are charging more for extra labour time and do less and less. Have always referred friends and family to them as well but will be advising them to take their business elsewhere as it is no longer what it use to be. Contacted them prior doing this review but fell on deaf ears, they don't seem to care or respond to negative feedback.
Destroyed my car manual. It was just fine before I took it to Midas Cairns. Quoted me an amount, I prepaid weeks ahead yet go to pick up the car and they've thrown an extra few hundred onto the bill and wouldn't release my car until payment was received. Left oil stains on car paint and panels and did a pretty crappy job. Avoid these guys if you can... Also put their crappy business sticker on my car without asking so now I have a reminder of being ripped off when I go driving...
Thankyou for the best customer service we have always received from Midas. Best prices in town, friendly, honest & courteous. It's such a nice feeling to always be welcomed with a friendly smile.
